The two things I enjoy most in life are probably traveling and drinking.  The airline security policy that does not allow liquids in carry-on bags has made traveling with booze risky business.  I was very excited to receive the Bottle Packers and give them a try.  Up until now I usually wrapped bottles of wine in a thick sweater and hoped for the best, but these Bottle Packers give me a little extra piece of mind, especially with reds.

The bags are padded with bubble wrap and surrounded by thick, bottle shaped plastic with a double zip-lock seal and fold over velcro closure in case the worst happens.

The padding seems sufficient to assure that your booze will arrive unharmed, but if not, it’s good to know that all of the liquid will be secured inside this bag and not all over your clothes…until you start drinking.

I gave these a real world test when I visited family in Louisiana.  On a recent Disney Cruise my mom had discovered Moet & Chandon Ice Imperial Champagne, then found out it’s only available in New York and Florida, so we’ve arranged a swap.  I brought her a couple of bottles of Moet Ice from Florida and left with some Gingeroo, one of my favorites from Tales of the Cocktail in New Orleans that I can’t find here.

This was an ambitious real world test, Moet ain’t cheap!  So that should tell you how much I trust this product.

This may not be a selling point for anyone else, but an added bonus for me was that two of the bottle packers fit perfectly in my favorite suit case.

These babies survived in my check luggage, being loaded and unloaded from the cargo hold of a plane TWICE!  Any my mom was able to enjoy her champagne.

The Bottle Packer is reusable too and worked just as well on the way home from Louisiana with my Gingeroo!

The Bottle Packer has a long list of selling points,

but the best testament is personal experience and I know I will be using the Bottle Packer for years to come.

You can purchase Bottle Packer in packages of 3 or 6 on Amazon.com (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B012AOVWQE)

I was compensated for this review, but as always all opinions expressed are my own.  I wholeheartedly support this product.

  1. You had me at “hello”. Seriously, the first line of this post makes me think we would be the best of friends. I once had to pack a 1L bottle of gin in my suitcase (stupid layovers, stupid …. laws) and luckily it didn’t break, but I wish I had had something like this to keep it (and my clothes … priorities) safe!

I’ll gladly be best friends Prianka, especially if you’re bringing gin lol! This is one of those “why didn’t I think of that?” products, but it’s certainly a lifesaver!

  2. I usually stuff my wine in a tube sock (classy, I know), then shove that inside a plastic bag and wrap it in clothes. This sounds like a much better alternative! 😉

No judgement here. I’ve done that many times before I discovered this product!

  3. Looks like the perfect way to transport wine bottles–no fear of breaking or leaking.

It’s certainly made my life easier!

  4. That’s awesome, we always like to bring back some of the local tipple but it can be an nightmare to pack in checked luggage. This solves that problem with no worries about anything getting ruined!

The occasion always calls for it!

  6. I didn’t even know such as a thing exists!
However, I think I’ll still pack bottles together with my sweaters 😉

haha! There is a certain charm to that method isn’t there?

  7. Craig needed this for the trip from Cuba to Canada. He couldn’t resist the cheap ron (rum) which inevitable ended up all over his clothes.

That’s heartbreaking, but I’ve certainly been there before. Hey, at least it wasn’t red wine!

Very cool I had no idea such a great product existed. I stopped carrying bottles after a experience with a broken bottle in a suitcase. It looks like this solves the problem and will save our clothes if the unthinkable happens!

Believe me, I’ve had many of those experiences… but where there is a will there is a way!

  9. Bottle packers seem like a good idea when you want to bring a bottle of wine from some foreign country, but if you want to take booze with you for the trip because you like to drink, how many bottles do you think you may need: 4, 5, 6… or probably more? There will be no more room in your suitcase for your cloths. Besides, if they break, even if they don’t spill in your luggage you still lost money. Believe me, you can find cheap alcohol anywhere in the world. Not worth carrying it in your suitcase.

Well, they are padded, so hopefully will prevent breakage all together. I agree with you to an extent. I certainly wouldn’t pack up a bunch of Arbor Mist to take with me anywhere. Most airlines will charge you more than the price of the bottle to check a bag now anyway, so it’s not a matter of cheap liquor so much as bottles of wine, liquor, olive oil etc. that are unavailable elsewhere.

  10. Phoenomenal. Now more booze to flow. Thanks for thsi incredible info. Would buy few ASAP.
