2- Appalachian Brewing Company

Can’t get enough of the suds? Head to one of Appalachian Brewing Company’s seven locations in the greater Gettysburg area. There’s even a location adjacent to the Gettysburg Battlefield that offers daily tours and a walk up beer window!

3- Mason Dixon Distillery

This young distillery currently has vodka and rum on offer, but there’s some much anticipated whiskey in the works. Tours of the facility are offered daily and of course include tastings. Pick up a bottle to take home or linger into the evening and enjoy a craft cocktail (or four) and some small plates. Their food menu changes seasonally, so you’ll want to plan a few trips 😉

4- Adams County Winery

While the Adams County Winery vineyard is located in nearby Orrtanna, PA, the Wine Shop at 25c offers tastings of the Adams County Wines in Gettysburg. The shop offers daily tastings as well as the opportunity to bring some snacks and sit down with your favorite bottle. The Adams County Winery prides themselves on creating a wine for every palate. They offer everything from sweet to dry and even some fruit wines with names like “Rebel Red” and “Yankee Blue” (made from blueberries). It’s easy to see why they are consistently voted the “best winery in Gettysburg.”

5- Reid’s Orchard and Winery

In addition to beer, wine, and liquor, Gettysburg and the surrounding area is known for it’s fruit production. In fact, Gettysburg is the largest producer of apples in Pennsylvania and the fourth largest in the USA. Reid’s Orchard and Winery has been able to incorporate both Gettysburg’s love of apples and booze into one glorious destination. Reid’s offers a selections of wines (both grape and other fruit varieties) and hard apple ciders. Much like the Adams County Winery, the wine-making process is done in Orrtanna, but the Reid’s Orchard and Winery Cider House Cafe in Gettysburg offers daily tastings, with souvenir glass if you’re so inclined.

As you can see, Civil War soldiers aren’t the only spirits you’ll encounter in Gettysburg (I had to do it!). This historic town has something for everyone, no matter what kind of booze (boos) you prefer.
